Defi Du Seuil posted a career-best RPR of 171 after seeing off Un De Sceaux (170) in a thrilling finish to the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

The winner's trademark finishing kick saw him move a length and a half clear after the last but his effort petered out close home and he held on to score by a neck.

His distinctive running style – being held onto before unleashing his speed – means his ratings can be only ever a few pounds higher than the horses he races against and, long term, he may struggle to post huge RPRs.
