Tight end 'Gronk' boosts Kentucky Derby coverage across sporting spectrum

While the build-up to the Kentucky Derby may not be as feverish as that of the Cheltenham Festival (is anything?!), there is certainly a good deal of interest being generated by the opening US Classic.

It particularly helps when one of the likely runners is named after one of the most famous figures in another hugely popular US sport – namely American Football.

In fact, it was enough to result in the dulcet tones of commentator Richard Hoiles being aired on Around The NFL, a leading Podcast, describing the victory of the Jeremy Noseda-trained Gronkowski, named after New England Patriots tight end Rob, in the Burradon Stakes at Newcastle on Good Friday.
