Three to note for Kempton and Musselburgh on Monday

A busy day of Flat action extends into the evening, with twilight cards at Kempton and Musselburgh. Here are three runners who could help start the week with a bang.

Mabs Cross (Musselburgh 5.10)

The sky remains the limit for this filly, who has won her last three starts and now bids for some black type. She is up 8lb for her most recent win at Haydock in June, but if ready to after that absence, she could improve further.

Golden Birthday (Kempton 7.25)

Harry Fry-trained runners on the Flat are not common, but this six-year-old made an immediate impact on his Flat debut when winning a Leicester maiden last month. A progressive hurdler, Golden Birthday is in great form and may prove better than his opening handicap mark of 79.

Debonaire David (Kempton 8.25)

Returning to the all-weather could have a positive effect on this three-year-old, who has not performed to the same level on turf.

From four all-weather starts, Debonaire David has two wins and two seconds, one of which came over this evening's course-and-distance. He needs a career-best from a mark of 72, but trainer Richard Hughes is among the winners.
