Three runners who are worth noting at Wolverhampton

Jason Watson: 'When I go to the races, I'm seen as the jockey who won the Stewards' Cup'

Wolverhampton takes centre stage this evening with a bumper eight-race card starting at 5.45. Here are three interesting runners who catch the eye...

Falathaat
6.15 Wolverhampton

Jason Watson does not look for catching in the Stobart Apprentice Jockeys’ Championship and the 18-year-old has six opportunities to stretch his lead at Wolverhampton on Wednesday evening.

As well as quantity, Watson has enjoyed his fair share of quality this season, including plenty of opportunities for Godolphin trainer Saeed Bin Suroor and the pair team up again with Falathaat, favourite for the 7f novice stakes (6.15).

She ran an encouraging debut when third at Kempton last month, the form of which was boosted when the fourth scored at the same venue on Monday, and she looks capable of scoring in this grade.

Caesar's Comet
7.45 Wolverhampton

Caesar's Comet has been well-supported to follow up in division two of the 6f handicap (7.45) and, while his double-figure draw is not ideal, he escapes a penalty for his recent win.

Trained in Tipperary by Denis Hogan, the four-year-old defeated 17 rivals in an apprentice handicap at Fairyhouse on Monday under Killian Leonard, who takes 3lb off in an arguably weaker race tonight.

Momentarily
8.45 Wolverhampton

Momentarily has to defy a 400-day absence in the 1m½f novice stakes for older horses (8.45), but the form of her debut third at Yarmouth last year could hardly have worked out better.

The winner that day, Wild Illusion, has twice scored at the highest level, while runner-up Give And Take landed a Group 3 at York in May.

A half-sister to Group-placed Firebeam, Momentarily must have a big chance if she is able to run to anything resembling her debut form back from a long absence.
