Three runners to keep an eye on at Kempton and Newcastle tonight
Nottingham, Yarmouth and Brighton provide this afternoon's action, while Kempton and Newcastle keep the show on the road on the all-weather this evening. Here are three horses to note for tonight
Gowanbuster
5.55 Newcastle
This course-and-distance winner has run creditably on all three starts at the track and his third place over 5f on his return to action will have likely put him in good stead for this 6f 0-75 handicap.
His sole win came over 6f when he was a length and three-quarters too good for Cocktail, with a further length and a quarter back to subsequent winner Nice Shot. Given the step up in trip there is every chance he can go close this evening.
Chynna
6.15 Kempton
Mick Channon's string is in red-hot form at the moment, with four winners from his last seven runners, and it will be interesting to see if Chynna can keep up the strike-rate.
This two-year-old filly finished a respectable fifth behind Strings Of Life in a novice contest at Newmarket's Craven meeting and while she faces a number of unraced fillies tonight, her previous racing experience is likely to stand her in good stead.
Chocolate Box
7.45 Kempton
The four-year-old gelding made an impressive start for his new stable last time out at Chelmsford in a 2m handicap when drawing clear of a decent field to record his highest RPR of 80. He is 2-2 on the Polytrack and has every chance of following up here if in the same form.
Trainer Mark Loughnane has had three winners from 11 runners in the last two weeks and this son of Zoffany seems to have thrived for the change of scenery.
