Following the sad loss of Kachy at Lingfield on Saturday, we recall some of the Tom Dascombe-trained speedster's best moments. He won nine of his 28 starts under rules.

Track record over six furlongs at Wolverhampton and Lingfield

Renowned for his potent turn of foot, Kachy holds the track record at Wolverhampton and Lingfield over six furlongs.

The son of Kyllachy produced his usual front-running effort when dismantling his opponents by six lengths at Wolverhampton in December 2018 and, in a time of 1m 11.80s, broke the track record in the process.

It was a similar story at Lingfield in February last year when Kachy put a competitive field to bed in the Listed Cleves Stakes. The three and a half length margin, in addition to the record time of 1m 9.30s, made him one of the most exciting all-weather runners in recent years.

Brave effort in defeat at Royal Ascot

Despite his reputation as a top-class all-weather performer, Kachy put it up to the best on the turf as well. He finished a length second to Quiet Reflection in the 2017 Commonwealth Cup and produced an equally admirable effort in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes last year.

Sent off an unfancied 33-1, Kachy set a blistering pace but showed plenty of resolve to finish third behind the record-breaking Blue Point and Dream Of Dreams. Many a horse would have faded after being headed, but Kachy showed typical determination to be placed.

Chester demolition job

Drawing an outside stall at Chester is something every trainer and jockey dreads but it proved no barrier to Kachy.

Drawn eight of eight in a conditions race in May 2018, he showed a blistering turn of foot to take the lead from the start and settled the race turning into the home straight.

Behind him that day was the useful Growl and Duke Of Firenze but the way Kachy put the race to bed served notice as to just quick how he was.
