Three horses it could pay to follow on Wednesday evening

The huge number of non-runners on Wednesday, coupled with heavy rain across the country, makes punting a difficult prospect but the winners are still there to be found. Here are three horses who could prosper this evening.

Exceed The Limit
6.45 Yarmouth

The Robert Cowell-trained four-year-old could well find this evening's 5f trip too sharp but he has enough form on ground with cut in it to give cause for optimism this evening. Jamie Spencer, who is closing in on 2,000 British Flat winners, takes the ride.

Verandah
7.05 Kempton

There are a number of interesting newcomers in this 7f maiden, including this Cheveley Park-bred, John Gosden-trained daughter of Medicean. Out of Palatial, Verandah is a sister or half-sister to seven winners, including the Group 2 winner and multiple Group 1 placegetter Spacious, who herself won first time out.

High Command
9.05 Kempton

The four-year-old stepped up to two miles for the first time in last month's Northumberland Plate consolation race at Newcastle, finishing a promising third. His trainer Roger Varian is in good form and High Command can gain a first Polytrack success in an open-looking contest.
