'This is a prime target' - Colonel Mustard team eyeing Betfair Hurdle tilt

Lorna Fowler is hopeful her stable star Colonel Mustard can help the yard bounce back from a difficult spell by making a successful code switch in next month's Betfair Hurdle.

The eight-year-old has run twice over fences this season, having finished third in last season's County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Despite failing to get his nose in front at Navan and Fairyhouse, Fowler believes Colonel Mustard has matured and has a live chance at Newbury.

"It's very realistic that he'll run there," the trainer said. "We were very happy with his two chase runs. Nothing beats learning on the track and he's run well. He's intelligent, which is one of his biggest assets.
