Irish Derby, 7.15 Curragh, Saturday

Normally the Irish Derby functions in tune with the original: was Epsom form confirmed, debunked or even usurped? It is totally different this year, coming a week ahead, rather than three or four behind. It went with the form at least, Santiago justifying favouritism and now plotting a route to the St Leger, but there was a lot of action in the straight to digest and apply to upcoming big races. How close should the unlucky third Dawn Patrol have finished?
