Apple’s Jade

Lismullen Hurdle, Navan, 11 November
She was a beaten favourite in the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle (Day One - Champion Day) at The Festival last year but Gordon Elliott is convinced he has got to the root of the problem there and she looked back to her brilliant best in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan on her return to action. It could take something special to beat her this time around.

TheTote.com Fortria Chase, Navan, 11 November
JP McManus has never won the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase (Day Two - Ladies Day), but he could have two solid chances this season in Great Field and Ballyoisin. The latter was breathtaking when winning the Fortria Chase on his latest start – Moscow Flyer and Big Zeb won it before reigning supreme in March – and the trailblazing son of Presenting could put it up to superstar Altior.

Eldorado Allen

188Bet Mobile Maiden Hurdle, Sandown, 11 November
There is so much untapped potential within French import Eldorado Allen, who could not have been more impressive when making a winning debut for Colin Tizzard at Sandown. The way he travelled, jumped and bounded clear makes you think there must be a chance he will be championship class – and if he is, the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle (Day Two - Ladies Day) could be the right race.

Kalashnikov

£50 Risk Free On Racing With Smarkets Novices’ Chase, Warwick, 9 November
Kalashnikov has the perfect build for chasing and cemented his position at the head of the Racing Post Arkle market with an impressive round of jumping on his debut over fences at Warwick. Last season’s Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle runner-up can go one better in the Arkle (Day One - Champion Day) and provide trainer Amy Murphy with a first success at The Festival.

Lalor

Racing Post Arkle Trial Novices’ Chase, Cheltenham, 18 November
There have been just over 28,500 horses make chase debuts in Britain or Ireland since 2006 and according to Racing Post Ratings only two recorded a better figure than Lalor’s 160. Neither of those proved to be superstars, but Altior also ran to 160 on his chase debut and look what happened to him. Lalor is an absolute natural and already not far short of good enough to win a Racing Post Arkle (Day One - Champion Day) for trainer Kayley Woollacott.

Malone Road makes a huge impression in winning at Punchestown

Malone Road

Mervyn Gray Construction INH Flat Race, Punchestown, 18 November
Malone Road built on his deeply impressive performance at Down Royal when pulverising the similarly emphatic debut winner Mt Leinster at Punchestown two weeks later. Gordon Elliott’s imposing son of Kalanisi has a high cruising speed and a devastating turn of foot, so he already looks a formidable Weatherbys Champion Bumper prospect (Day Two - Ladies Day).

Sceau Royal

Shloer Chase, Cheltenham, 18 November
A fantastic return to the track from Sceau Royal, who landed the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham’s November meeting and enhanced his already impressive record at the track (three wins from six starts). You won’t see many better jumping performances and trainer Alan King is sure to have him spot on for a crack at the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase (Day Two - Ladies Day), for which he must hold solid claims.

Tiger Roll: will warm up for Cheltenham's Cross-Country chase in the Boyne Hurdle

Tiger Roll

Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase, Cheltenham, 16 November
It’s highly unlikely any horse will match Quevega’s six wins at The Festival but if there is one who could do it then it has to be the magnificent Tiger Roll. He’s already won three different races at The Festival plus a Grand National and he will still only be a nine-year-old come March. Tiger Roll shaped as if he was a good as ever when giving loads of weight away in the cross-country race at the November meeting and at The Festival he will be racing off level weights. He is going to be mighty hard to beat in his defence of his Glenfarclas Chase crown (Day Two - Ladies Day).
