'They could be nice' - Hughes calls on McCoy as he preps Flat squad for hurdling

There's little point one of your best friends being a jumping legend and not making use of him, which is why Richard Hughes has called on 20-time champion jockey Sir Anthony McCoy to help with schooling.

Hughes has a jumps pedigree himself as the son of the late Dessie, a decorated rider who was Ireland's champion trainer in 1983.

The Lambourn trainer has had a productive Flat campaign and saddled two first-time-out two-year-old all-weather winners in recent days, but he has put together what he believes could be a tidy team of novice hurdlers.
