'There's no reason why he won't go on' - superstar Baaeed set to race in 2022

Baaeed's stunning victory on British Champions Day left the sport yearning for more and Shadwell racing manager Angus Gold sees "no reason" why European racing's new megastar will not be around to light up the 2022 Flat season.

Gold described the emotions of watching Baaeed announce himself as the best in Europe on Saturday as a mixture of "huge relief as well as pride and joy" and is looking forward to discussions about his future with the late Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's daughter Sheikha Hissa and trainer William Haggas.

It was a monumental day at Ascot for the royal blue and white silks, with Baaeed's Queen Elizabeth II Stakes win the undoubted crown jewel but successes for Eshaada and Aldaary adding plenty of gilt to the occasion.
