The Punt Daily: Tom Collins's free horse racing tips on Sunday
IRISH ANGLE
Andy Oliver often targets this race with an improving three-year-old stayer and Bear Claws, who is making his first start in handicap company, fits that bill after a promising effort in a Down Royal maiden when last seen 22 days ago. The son of Mukhadram has plenty of stamina in his pedigree (half-brother to 2m winner, dam stayed 1m4f) and based on his three runs to date where he has looked rather one paced but strong at the finish over shorter trips, the step up to 1m4f can only be seen as a plus. It's notable that he has an entry on Thursday, so he could be quickly turned out if victorious, and this is just his second start on quick ground (career-best RPR on only other start on these conditions).
