The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Tuesday afternoon
BANKER
Mark Johnston's Seductive Moment is likely to be fancied in this race thanks to an improbable victory at Newmarket on Saturday, but he might be stopped by a double penalty and Detachment could be the one to pick up the pieces at a nice price. Roger Fell's strong-travelling gelding goes well at this track (won here twice) and was a real eyecatcher on his first start for the yard when third behind Bollin Ted here eight days ago. He tanked through that race over 1m2f but couldn't find a gap at a crucial time and went straight into my notebook.
GOOD THING
Racing's newest trainer George Boughey almost landed his first winner with his first runner as George Dryden was only narrowly denied at Bath last week having made most of the running. He was swamped late on that day by Bay Watch, who has subsequently hacked up under a penalty at Salisbury and given the form a strong look for the grade. The drop to the minimum trip looks likely to help this frontrunner and it shouldn't be long before he capitalises off a lowly mark now rejuvenated by his Newmarket handler.
EACH-WAY PLAY
Boom The Groom (4.45 Goodwood)
It's only a matter of time before Tony Carroll's Boom The Groom comes back to form, but he needs everything to go right and he might get that here. Drawn in the middle of the field in stall seven, Boom The Groom, who interestingly has a tongue-tie refitted (first time since September 2015) and blinkers on for the first time, should be able to get a nice tow into the race and pounce late at a double-figure price. The new headgear is sure to bring about a bit of improvement and given he is able to race off 4lb lower than his last winning mark and 15lb lower than when last successful here, he is handicapped to go close.
