The agreement on a governance structure for the sport removes one of the main obstacles for the BHA to make progress with a medium-to-long term strategy for the sport. However, some areas which need attention also bring with them the chance for conflict.


Fixture list and race programme

Fixtures and the race programme help drive racecourse income through media rights, as well as people coming through the gate, and any decisions made by the BHA that might affect that to a large degree are likely to become a flashpoint. Racecourses have long dismissed any suggestion that there is doubt over their ownership of the majority of fixtures and they will jealously guard them. Flashpoint rating 5/5
