The jumps season goes up a notch with the Charlie Hall meeting at Wetherby
Monday
Jump racing returns to Ayr after a six-month break and the feature limited novice handicap chase (3.15) looks an intriguing contest with all four runners making their debuts over fences. Grade 2-winning hurdler Nells Son won two bumpers at this track and was last seen finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree.
Earlier, dual Graded-winning chaser Sizing Pottsie makes his first start for David Pipe having been bought for 95,000gns in May.
The eight-year-old didn't win over hurdles for Jessica Harrington but reverts to the smaller obstacles (1.40) for his first start after a wind operation and will run in the colours of Honeysuckle's owner Kenny Alexander.
The day's Flat racing come from Leicester and Redcar, with an evening all-weather meeting at Newcastle.
Tuesday
Gentle Connections failed in her bid for a five-timer in the Grade 2 Persian War Novices' Hurdle this month and returns to Chepstow aiming to get back on track in the 2m7½f handicap hurdle (2.35).
Mot A Mot is of his interest on his chasing debut (1.10) at Bangor. The six-year-old won twice for Nicky Henderson before scoring on his debut for Sam Thomas at Newbury when last seen in April.
There are also Flat meetings at Catterick and Newcastle.
Wednesday
Ralph Beckett has already had a winning debutant in a Nottingham maiden this month in Artistic Star and he has two newcomers entered in the race (1.35) won by subsequent Derby winners Golden Horn, who the race is named after, and Adayar.
Galilaeus holds a Derby entry while Balance Play is ineligible for the Epsom Classic having already been gelded. The Kimpton trainer could also be represented by Mr Buster, who was second over course and distance on his debut.
Other Flat meetings come from the Curragh and Kempton, while Fakenham and Chepstow race over jumps, with the latter replacing Taunton's cancelled fixture.
Thursday
Oscula has won two Group 3s this season and could be dangerous at Listed level in the Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes (4.00) at Lingfield.
The River Eden Stakes (3.25) is the other Listed contest for fillies on the card and was won by subsequent Group 1 winner Sea La Rosa last year. Her trainer William Haggas could repeat that success with Bartzella. Chelmsford hosts the day's only other Flat meeting in Britain.
Magic Daze, the horse who gave Gold Cup and Grand National-winning jockey Robbie Power his last winner before retirement, could make her reappearance at Clonmel (4.40). The Robcour-owned mare finished second at last year's Cheltenham Festival before success under Power in a Punchestown handicap when last seen in April.
Kim Bailey's bumper winner Chianti Classico was last seen at Aintree's Grand National meeting and appeals in the 2m4f maiden hurdle (3.05) at Worcester.
The race has attracted 55 entries, including eight Irish point-to-point winners who are yet to run under rules, so a strong event is highly likely as jumps trainers start to unleash their top prospects for the season ahead.
Stratford's seven-race jumps card is another option for racegoers based in the Midlands.
Friday
Wetherby's two-day Charlie Hall Chase meeting begins with a competitive seven-race card which could see Grade 1-winning hurdler Gelino Bello make his chasing debut (1.45) for Paul Nicholls.
Scriptwriter finished fifth to Coroebus on the Flat and made the perfect start over obstacles for Milton Harris at Sedgefield last time and may clash with Chepstow scorer Tuddenham Green in the Listed juvenile hurdle (2.55).
The latter is owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, who could also have Good Boy Bobby going for back-to-back wins in the feature handicap chase (3.30).
As well as Gelino Bello at Wetherby, Nicholls could also unleash Monmiral over fences at Uttoxeter. A Grade 1 winner as a juvenile, Monmiral could give weight all round (3.40) to the likes of Lanzarote Hurdle hero Cobblers Dream and Olly Murphy's prolific Thunder Rock.
The Listed 'Bosra Sham' Fillies' Stakes (2.40) headlines Newmarket's offering on the Rowley Mile with all-weather meetings at Southwell and Dundalk completing the day's action.
Saturday
The £100,000 bet365 Charlie Hall Chase (3.35) is the highlight of Wetherby's season and was won last year by Fusil Raffles after the Dan Skelton-trained Shan Blue's dramatic fall at the third-last fence, with the Grade 2 at his mercy.
Shan Blue will not bid for redemption this time round due to a bruised foot. The Charlie Hall is preceded by the Listed bet365 Mares' Hurdle (2.25), won by Skelton last year with Molly Ollys Wishes, and the Grade 2 West Yorkshire Hurdle (3.00), which has gone the way of the likes of Inglis Drever, Tidal Bay and Cole Harden this century.
Ascot accompanies Wetherby on ITV's Saturday coverage with the Bateaux London Gold Cup (3.15) the feature of four live races shown on terrestrial television from the Berkshire venue. Galway also stages a seven-race jumps card.
Two Listed contests, the Montrose (3.58) and Jane Seymour Stakes (4.33), keeps Flat interest ticking over at Newmarket. There is also all-weather racing at Wolverhampton.
Sunday
The Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase (2.30) headlines a seven-race card at Carlisle and the race usually produces a classy field, with Fiddlerontheroof, Lostintranslation and Waiting Patiently among those to have taken the Listed contest in the last decade.
Other jumps meetings come from Huntingdon, Galway and Wexford with no Flat racing scheduled on Sunday.
