Baaeed's narrow but convincing defeat of Palace Pier in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes was the ratings highlight of Champions Day with the unbeaten three-year-old moving to the head of the mile rankings after returning another improved Racing Post Rating of 127+.

Having only made his debut in early June there's clear potential for Baaeed to rate higher still and time may show him to have been the best horse on show at Ascot, even if a lack of pace for this Group 1 limited the opportunity to post a superstar figure. For now his form falls a little below the summer levels of middle-distance stars Adayar and Mishriff, and the recently retired St Mark's Basilica.
