Terrestrial exposure: Beverley delighted as ITV televises three Saturday races
ITV racing has given Beverley a significant boost by pitching its cameras at the Yorkshire track for three live races on Saturday, with the feature two-year-old contests present on the running order for the first time.
The itinerary commences with a 7½f handicap, followed by the 5f Hilary Needler Trophy Fillies' Conditions Stakes for juveniles and the 5f Brian Yeardley Two Year Old Trophy Conditions Stakes, with both of the latter contests likely to have an impact on the Royal Ascot juvenile markets.
Sally Iggulden, chief executive at Beverley, said: "We've had ITV and Channel 4 cameras covering the Beverley Bullet in August before but that would be for just the one race.
"It's a really nice bonus and this is the first time they've taken our two feature two-year-old races, as well as having more than one live televised race, which is excellent for the course. It's great exposure for us."
The Cool Silk Partnership were responsible for last year's Hilary Needler heroine Kodyanna and could team up with trainer Richard Fahey again courtesy of debutante Moon Of Love.
The betting for the Two Year Old Trophy is headed by the Richard Hannon-trained Oh Purple Reign, who followed his debut Nottingham victory with an eyecatching second behind Pinatubo in the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom last week.
