Tattersalls Gold Cup purse increased
The value of the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup, which will be run at the Curragh on May 28, has been increased from €250,000 to €300,000.
The 1m2f event has been sponsored by Tattersalls since 1985 has been won by many top-class horses including So You Think, Al Kazeem, Fame And Glory, Fantastic Light, Montjeu, Daylami, Hurricane Run and Fascinating Rock who beat Found in the race last year.
Edmond Mahony, chairman of Tattersalls, said: "We are proud to have been sponsoring the race for more than 30 years. Based on official ratings, the Tattersalls Gold Cup was the second best Flat race run in Ireland in 2016 and the increase in prize-money reflects the global stature of the race."

Entries for this year's renewal, which will again form part of Tattersalls Irish Guineas weekend, close on Wednesday March 22.
