Sussex Stakes next for 'exciting' Mohaather with Tregoning back in the big time

Marcus Tregoning, who dined at the top table thanks to the exploits of his 2006 Derby hero Sir Percy, believes he has more than a fighting chance of feasting on one of Europe's main mile events with Saturday's wildly impressive Betfred Summer Mile winner Mohaather.

The four-year-old, who runs in the colours of Hamdan Al Maktoum, displayed a rare turn of foot when scooting clear at Ascot over the weekend and is the general 3-1 second favourite behind Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Siskin for the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on July 29.

Tregoning, who moved from Lambourn to Whitsbury near Salisbury in 2013, is thrilled to be back on the big-race circuit with the three-time Group-race scorer, who was a luckless seventh in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on his return this term.
