Super Saturday: ITV to show Presenting Percy's race among ten-contest bonanza
Stay-at-home viewers are in for a ten-race treat on Saturday, with a packed ITV4 schedule set to include two races at Ascot transferred from last weekend’s abandoned Betfair Hurdle meeting as well as Gold Cup favourite Presenting Percy’s return to fences at Gowran Park.
ITV4 was originally due to screen seven races from Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton, but will now show one extra from Ascot and Wincanton, as well as the Red Mills Chase at Gowran.
The Betfair Hurdle and Betfair Denman Chase have been added to a stellar Ascot card that already featured the Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase and Grade 2 Sodexo Reynoldstown Chase, making it a nine-race bonanza.
The Betfair Hurdle, which will have a reduced total prize fund of £85,000, will revert to the original entry/weights stage, and the weights published date will remain the same, as will any penalties incurred. Declarations will be at the 24-hour stage.
Entries previously made for four other rescheduled races will not stand and new entries will close at midday on Wednesday.
These are the Kingmaker Chase, switched from Warwick last Saturday to Sandown this Friday, the Denman Chase, and Listed mares’ races to be run at Haydock and Wincanton on Saturday.
There is good news too for fans of point-to-pointing, which resumes on Saturday.
