Strong strike-rates and an emerging talent - stats to help your Thursday punting
There are three meetings on Thursday at Newcastle, Catterick and Chelmsford. Here are statistics from those tracks which could help your punting . . .
Newcastle
Billy Garritty landed a 100-1 winner at Newcastle last week and is 2-3 at the track this year. He travels there on Thursday for just one ride on the Tom Tate-trained Thunder Gap (12.05).
The six-year-old has just seven runs under his belt and was second off a 1lb lower mark at Newcastle in October. That was over 1m2f and he shaped better than the bare result over a furlong further at Southwell last time. He should strip fitter for that run and has solid each-way claims under a rider with the winning habit.
Catterick
Four runners at Catterick this season have yielded three victories for Sean Quinlan and a level-stakes profit of £31.75. He has two rides on Thursday, the first being Sam's Adventure (2.50) in the North Yorkshire Grand National.
There has been little to show from his recent runs, but having won the 2021 Eider off a mark of 139, his current rating of 122 sees him well handicapped.
Quinlan also rides Lalochezia(3.25), who won a maiden hurdle at Kelso last season. His runs this season have been below that standard, but he is another who is on a potentially dangerous mark.
Chelmsford
Mia Nicholls rode her first career winner on Bascinet at Chelmsford last week and has two big chances to add to her tally on Thursday.
Hurt You Never (5.30) has a modest strike-rate, but she is consistent and was beaten only a length under Nicholls at Newcastle in October off 1lb higher; she is capable fresh and should go well.
Nicholls is later reunited with Bascinet(8.30), who won by a nose in that Chelmsford race. He has a 5lb penalty to contend with, but is another consistent type who is sure to go close.
