Nominations have opened for the 2017-18 Stable Person of the Year, sponsored by the Racing Post, one of a host of Jockey Club awards that make up the McCoys, which recognise outstanding contributions to jump racing.

As a result of the success of the first ever McCoys South West Jump Awards, the event has been expanded to involve all Jockey Club jumps courses with presentations made at a ceremony held at Cheltenham on Friday, September 28.

JP McManus, Paul Nicholls, Harry Cobden, James Bowen, Many Clouds and Olly McPhail received a McCoy statue last year.

The Stable Person of the Year prize seeks to recognise the behind-the-scenes passion, dedication and skill of members of the sport's support cast. Nominations close on Thursday, May 31.

There are multiple categories of the awards, which are named after the record-breaking 20-time champion jump jockey Sir Anthony McCoy.

Presentations will be made for leading owner, trainer and jockey; horse of the season (novice hurdler and chaser, hurdler and chaser); judges choice award for the standout moment; horse of the season; frequent runner award; pony racing achievement of the season; racing ride of the season; horse performance of the season and outstanding contribution.

Only licensed trainers are eligible to make nominations for Stable Person of the Year, which can be done via this link.
