St Leger second favourite in action as Maureen Haggas back in watching brief

Egan on Leger colt

David Egan was riding out for the final day before heading to Japan for this weekend's jockeys challenge. The 2017 champion apprentice was given a feel of his intended St Leger mount Eldar Eldarov in a routine exercise over a mile among the Roger Varian ranks.

Others to impress from this quarter were Open Champion (Andrea Atzeni) and Strawberri (Cameron Noble), who had solo workouts and have entries this weekend.

Maureen Haggas on comeback trail

Maureen Haggas has been back alongside husband William on the heath this week as she recovers from two broken bones in her neck sustained in a gallops fall ten days ago.
