Apprentice Sophie Ralston appears set for the ultimate flying dismount on Sunday as she will perform a skydive to raise funds for the Injured Jockeys Fund.

The skydive has been previously postponed due to adverse weather and riding commitments, but with no mounts booked for Sunday everything appears in place for Ralston to fulfil her fundraising goal.

The rider, who is based at Pat Phelan's Epsom yard, said: "I'm petrified but trying not to think about it! It does look a little on the cloudy side but fingers crossed the weather will be fine this time."

Ralston's only mount on the card at Newbury on Friday, Laguna Spirit, was withdrawn after losing a shoe on the way to the start and she will be certainly be hoping everything remains intact come Sunday.

"Hopefully it goes ahead and everything goes smoothly," she added. "The Injured Jockeys Fund is a cause we care greatly about as riders and it will be good to drum up some support."

Ralston will perform the dive near Salisbury along with a friend who also works for Phelan, and IJF donations can be made through her justgiving page.
