Slate House, an authoritative Grade 1 winner at Kempton on Boxing Day, is to step out of novice company and test himself against elite chasers in the Paddy Power Cotswold Chase on Saturday.

It will be a first run at Cheltenham for the eight-year-old since his agonising penultimate-fence fall in the BetVictor Gold Cup in November. Slate House was travelling strongly that day but has since gained compensation in emphatic style.

After a confidence-boosting win at Huntingdon, he stormed clear of a quality field in the Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices' Chase and is primed for his weekend target.
