A Coral telebet punter had more reason than most to celebrate the final day of the jumps season at Sandown on Saturday when he won nearly £850,000 after backing the first six winners.

The man, a regular Coral customer who wishes to remain anonymous, placed a £30 Heinz and Silverhow's victory completed a remarkable afternoon, taking his total payout to £847,999 and making him the biggest winner of a fixed-odds racing bet in Coral’s history.

The firm's David Stevens said: “Ballymoy’s victory in the opening race kicked off a remarkable afternoon for this customer, and while Top Notch, Altior and Call Me Lord were all prominent in the betting for their respective races, Step Back in the feature [bet365 Gold Cup] and Silverhow in the sixth and final race were the standout selections that really made this bet the spectacular success it became.

“Massive congratulations to this punter, who by taking early prices on his selections maximised his return. The end result of the six winners was the biggest payout on a fixed-odds racing bet in Coral’s history."

The previous biggest payout by Coral to a racing customer was £823,000, in April 2017.
