Shock as Malaysian apprentice allegedly shot dead by brother

Chung Wah Thong, an apprentice jockey in Malaysia and formely in Singapore, was shot and killed in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The New Straits Times reported the 28-year-old was allegedly shot by his older brother along with his mother, three-year-old son and stepfather while they were asleep.

In a four-year career in Malaysia, Chung notched 30 winners, the highest profile of which came when stearing Beautiful Choice to victory in last year's Malaysian Group 1 Selangor Gold Cup.
