THE next generation of Sheikh Mohammed’s children are about to become racehorse owners, in a move that is also expected to signal a return to British racecourses for his original maroon and white silks.

Sheikh Mohammed’s wife Princess Haya revealed to the Racing Post that racing partnerships are being prepared in the names of her daughter Jalila, eight, and son Zayed, four. Plans are being made for the latter’s partnership to carry the colours Sheikh Mohammed used for 20 years until he founded Godolphin.

However, Princess Haya said: “Jalila has chosen her own colours, which will be red and yellow. We are all very excited and hope this will maintain the children’s interest until they are old enough to have horses in their own names.”
