Colin Tizzard will look to hand over his licence officially to son Joe in September and will pass the baton with the expectation of a big season for the Dorset stable.

The 2020-21 campaign has been a slightly disappointing one for the yard with just 36 winners compared to 61 in the previous season, and way down on the 79 achieved in the Gold Cup-winning campaign of 2017-18.

Runners from the yard were affected by a bug during a crucial part of the season but there appears to be plenty of young talent in the ranks and, although the Tizzards were without a Cheltenham Festival winner, they were responsible for five Grade 1 placed-finishes at the Irish-dominated meeting.
