As chairman of Scunthorpe United, Peter Swann is used to games of two halves.

But it was a day of two halves on Saturday, when the racehorse owner enjoyed his biggest success courtesy of Sands Of Mali in the British Champions Sprint Stakes, but then had to suffer as his League One football team relinquished a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 away to Wycombe Wanderers.

Swann, whose horses run under the Cool Silk Partnership banner, was due to fly back on Sunday night from the west coast of the United States, where he got up early to watch all the action unfold.
