Saxon still looks the one to beat but race tactics could prove key

Same old, same old. That has to be the feeling going into Qipco Guineas weekend when, time and time again, Group 1 form and Aidan O'Brien have proved irresistible.

As such it is not bookies' favourite Gustav Klimt who makes most appeal, despite his impressive win in the four-runner Leopardstown 2,000 Guineas Trial after a long absence following his Group 2 victory in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting.

He was worth considerably more than his narrow win over useful yardstick Nebo at Newmarket, getting Ryan Moore out of jail, but a hard race in a soundly run trial on bad ground could also have an effect.
