Saturday boost: five races at Naas set to be shown on ITV4
Racing fans that were worried about a blank Saturday of televised action were given a boost with the news that five races from Naas will be broadcast live on ITV4.
The news, delivered on Thursday afternoon, came shortly after the BHA announced that no racing would take place in Britain until Wednesday at the earliest due to an outbreak of equine flu.
ITV4 had been due to cover the meetings at Newbury, including the feature Betfair Hurdle, and Warwick.
The good news about five races at Naas being covered by ITV4 comes hot on the heels of the broadcaster showing the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown last Saturday.
The feature contest at Naas is a Listed mares’ chase at 2.10. The programme is scheduled to air from 1.30-4.00pm and will be presented by Ed Chamberlin, Mick Fitzgerald, Luke Harvey and Matt Chapman.
The Opening Show will be on from 9.30-10.30am on ITV4 and the issue of Equine Flu will be discussed.
