Road To Riches back in training with Meade eyeing second Plate victory
Two years on from his 11-length romp in the race, Road To Riches will bid to regain his thetote.com Galway Plate crown from a stone higher in the handicap.
Noel Meade has given his dual Grade 1 winner the go ahead to contest his first handicap since he won the race in 2014 and reports the nine-year-old to have thrived over the last few weeks. Paddy Power make him an 8-1 chance to win the race for a second time.
Road To Riches finished third to Coneygree in the 2015 Cheltenham Gold Cup and filled the same position behind Vautour in the Ryanair Chase at the festival in March. However, he will arrive at Galway on the back of a crashing fall at the second-last when leading the pack in the Punchestown Gold Cup and Meade has not schooled him since.
