Only two of the last seven winners of the 1,000 Guineas have come into the race without a trial, Blue Bunting (2011) and Minding (2016).

Aidan O'Brien's wonder filly Minding – who was sent off the 5-4 favourite - came to Newmarket having recorded three wins from five starts, including a comfortable victory in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile over course and distance on her final juvenile start. O'Brien's biggest hope this year, Rhododendron, is being treated like the new Minding.

With an almost identical CV, the daughter of Galileo looks to be a reasonable price at around 5-2 if she has made the same sort of progress as her stablemate did over the winter.
