Louise Brown, part-owner of Sodexo Gold Cup winner Antony, was in church on Sunday giving thanks. But there is nothing unusual in that.

For Reverend Brown, who owns Saturday's big Ascot winner in partnership with her accountant brother Robin and their friend Len Bloggs, is a vicar, and she presided over two services.

Brown, who is based at All Saints' Church in Dedworth, Windsor, said: "It was All Saints' Day, so I gave a special humorous plug in my sermons for Saint Anthony. He is the patron saint of lost causes, so it couldn't be more appropriate for racing!
