The Dikler was never fond of exams, so felt some sympathy for Joao Moreira when he recently failed a written test that would have allowed him a full-time riding licence in Japan.

That failure sparked speculation the Brazilian would return to Hong Kong, where he had become a record-breaking punters' darling before setting his heart on a stint elsewhere.
