Good things come to those who wait and owner George Materna's patience was rewarded in some style as You're Hired secured a first victory since 2016 in sensational style.

The seven-year-old had won three times at three, but after those successes he had found the winner's enclosure elusive. However, he dominated from the front in the 1m2f handicap under William Buick, strolling home fully 14 lengths clear of Scottish Summit.

Winning trainer Amanda Perrett said: "It's really lovely to have a winner for George. You're Hired had been running consistently well and he's won in some style.
