Yorkhill had little more than a schooling session on his debut over fences and while the 1-8 favourite jumped sharply to the left at most of the fences, he won the 2m beginners chase, unchallenged, by 14 lengths under Ruby Walsh.

Neither the winning jockey or trainer Willie Mullins were unduly worried by the winner's tendency to go left, with Mullins claiming, with Leopardstown, Cheltenham and Aintree being left-handed tracks, that it wasn't a concern for Andrea and Graham Wylie's six-year-old.
