Talk about overcoming the odds. The diagnosis for amateur rider Tabitha Worsley when she broke her back in a fall at Ludlow in November was a minimum six months on the sidelines, yet little more than four months later she was celebrating a scarcely believable success as Young Lou took the 3m2f handicap hurdle.

The 23-year-old was left with fractured and displaced T11 and T12 vertebrae but, with help from Oaksey House in Lambourn, Worsley has made a supersonic recovery.

“They fused the vertebrae together with a bit of metal work which definitely speeds the recovery process,” said the rider.
