Will Enable win a third Arc? Our panellists have differing views
No. For all it was incredible to see Enable win a third King George, it was a very difficult race to analyse from a form perspective. We still don't know Sovereign's level – or whether he ran up to it at Ascot – and Japan plainly didn't perform. To me, conceding 7lb to Love represents a bigger challenge than Waldgeist did last year and that's before you factor in Mishriff, who is still being underestimated. Then there are other stablemates like Stradivarius and Logician, while the race will surely be considered for Santiago and Serpentine.

I don't think so. Her two runs prior to winning her third King George were below par and I'm not too sure she had to run much better than those runner-up performances to win at Ascot. Sovereign made a bold bid from the front but he has already proved vulnerable since his Irish Derby win, while Japan clearly didn't fire. Cutting Enable to 11-4 favourite on the back of that effort is hard to justify, especially given she will have to carry significantly more weight than Aidan O'Brien's Love. I prefer Love, who might just have the legs on six-year-old Enable at this stage of her career.

It was a historic win, but Enable did not have to be at her best to succeed in what was a disappointing King George. Right now, it's not shaping up to be a vintage Arc either and her connections have only Love to fear from what we've seen so far this summer. The age stats will be against Enable come October – no horse as old as six has won an Arc since 1932 – but this performance ensures she remains the one to beat. She is one of the most consistently brilliant champions we've seen on the turf and I think she'll hold every chance of winning in France for the third time.
