'Defi Du Seuil looks exceptional value compared with Chacun Pour Soi'
Chacun Pour Soi earned his first Grade 1 in open company when accounting for stablemate Min impressively in the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase at the Dublin Racing Festival.
He is as short as 5-2 for the Queen Mother Champion Chase, and two Racing Post reporters have analysed his chance of Cheltenham Festival success.
"We have no proof he'll relish Cheltenham"
I'd much rather Defi Du Seuil. Chacun Pour Soi passed this test but A Plus Tard didn't take part and Cilaos Emery was an early faller, so it wasn't the showdown it could have been. He's a very uncomplicated horse but he looked tired in the final stages and, unlike with Defi Du Seuil – who is six from eight at Cheltenham including two festival wins – we have no proof he'll relish Cheltenham. Ultimately, Defi Du Seuil looks exceptional value at 2-1 as opposed to Chacun Pour Soi at 5-2.

"Chacun Pour Soi jumps and travels like a Champion Chase winner"
He certainly looked the part there. In fact I thought he stepped up massively on his reappearance run over Christmas and his position in the Champion Chase market is now most definitely justified. Chacun Pour Soi jumps and travels like a Champion Chase winner. He beat Defi Du Seuil at Punchestown in the spring, although I don't think JP McManus's horse was at his best that day. The rematch at the festival will be much closer. I'd still side with Defi on a softer surface, but a Champion Chase run at a furious gallop would suit this horse more if conditions were quicker.
