He may have been out of luck in Group 3 company down south but it was still a landmark day for Martyn Meade.

Some 80 minutes before Chilean's fourth place in the bet365 Classic Trial at Sandown, stablemate Ship Of The Fen gave Meade his first British victory since he moved to Manton.

And the colt, who was well backed when landing a nursery at Nottingham in the autumn, may have helped pay some more of the relocation expenses in the 1m2f handicap for three-year-olds.
