Joe Doyle's second ride without his claim was a winning one as Whirl Me Round took the opening two-year-old maiden for Kevin Ryan and Guy Reed Racing.

Doyle, who rode out his claim at Musselburgh last Friday and enjoyed a double at Ayr on Monday during the grace period for his 3lb allowance, said: "That was my second ride without a claim and it's great it's a two-year-old for the boss, and a nice one at that."

Whirl Me Round was going one better than when beaten a nose on her recent debut at Beverley. Ryan went on to complete a double as Bay Mirage got off the mark at the seventh attempt in the 6f maiden for older horses.
