Weston has perfect Tonic with first runner

It was a day of firsts behind the more familiar feature winners, with a young trainer and even younger conditional enjoying red-letter days.

There is quite a family tradition in the Weston household, with father Martin having won the 1997 National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham on Flimsy Truth and son Tom having landed the 2010 Aintree Fox Hunters' on 50-1 Silver Adonis.

Tom Weston brought Tullow Tonic to complete her hat-trick in the latest qualifier for the new Challenger Mares' Hurdle series, having won the second leg of her treble at Leicester just two days earlier.
