Wedge hails 'fantastic' Coole Cody as he watches from the sidelines

Sidelined jockey Adam Wedge put his own misfortune to one side after watching Coole Cody land the Paddy Power Gold Cup, heaping praise on the winning team behind the success.

Wedge is off games with a shoulder injury and under different circumstances would have been the man on board Coole Cody, trained by his boss Evan Williams in Wales.

The jockey broke his collarbone on the gallops at Emma Lavelle's yard last Thursday, and had to watch replacement Tom O'Brien carry out the front-running tactics he had suggested deploying to perfection.
