Wedge breaks free and bags a winner as jumps racing returns

Jumps racing returned in the nick of time for rider Adam Wedge, who was in danger of going stir crazy while confined to his house as a result of the recent snow that has blighted blighty.

Thankfully there was no sign of it at Southwell, where temperatures reached a balmy 8C, but conditions remain perilous for Wedge and his neighbours in the Vale of Glamorgan.

“It’s horrendous and I was struggling to get out this morning – the snow drifts are unbelievably bad,” said Wedge.
