Taking a leaf out of his master's book. That was Archie Watson, who had two runners during the afternoon and went home with a third and a winner in Golden State, who took what looked a decent older fillies' maiden under Danny Tudhope.

Her trainer said: "I was with William Haggas for four years and he did well with his runners here, so that's why we've come. It's a lovely track."

A €65,000 purchase in February, Golden State runs in the colours of Nick Bradley Racing and was getting off the mark on her second start for her new owner, having run well on her only outing as a juvenile.
