Watson continues Lightning start with third career winner

Archie Watson has made a bright start to his training career and Ride The Lightning was his third winner from just 23 runners when readily justifying favouritism in the 1m4f handicap. Having also been his first winner, at Kempton in October, he will not be forgotten in a hurry.

After Luke Morris had produced the Dalakhani gelding around the outside turning in to score by a length and a half, Watson confirmed: "He'll always have a very special place in my affections."

Watson, who spent four years with William Haggas, added: "I'm in Saxon Gate, Lambourn, and I have about 25 horses, most of them yearlings. I've only got eight older horses, but the ones that are on the go are in good form."
