Never mind Rich Ricci or JP McManus, when it comes to the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Dai Walters is the owner holding the trump cards this year following Al Dancer's Betfair Hurdle bre–eze.

With leading fancy Angels Breath heading to the same race for him, the Cheltenham Festival opener could be one to savour for the man who turned an open-cast coal mine into Ffos Las racecourse.

Deciding to play to each horse's strengths rather than splitting the pair at Cheltenham, Walters said: “I’ve got to go along with what Nigel Twiston-Davies wants, and Nicky Henderson – we’ve got to put the two in the same race. First and second will do anyhow!”
